Essential Knowledge

• To determine if UVM subscribes to a journal, check the UVM Libraries Catalog or the list of UVM E-Journals.
  • Note what years are available online
  • Note any "embargoes"
  • Note multiple vendors.
    

• For articles in journals that UVM does not subscribe to, submit an Interlibrary Loan request, found under SERVICES on the DML homepage. Patrons are entitled to 25 free interlibrary loan requests per academic year. 
  

• Consult the Tutorials & Tips page, found under the HELP section of the DML homepage for help in using specific resources such as PubMed and EndNote.

• Will you be accessing the electronic resources from off-campus? If so, you’ll probably be using EZProxy. You'll need to use your UVM Net ID/password. Check out this quick tutorial for using EZProxy. Consult the Connect from Off-Campus page for additional information.
